How it works

  1. 1

    Open the P&L Overview tab

From the sidebar, tap "Finances" to open /finances. "P&L Overview" is the first tab, next to "Expenses" and "Calculator", and opens by default. On your first visit, ResellIQ automatically jumps to the most recent period that actually has sales in it, so you never land on a page of six £0.00 cards just because nothing sold this month.

  2. 2

    Pick your period

Use the period buttons, "This month", "Last 3 months", "This year" or "All time", to set the window every number on the tab is calculated over. Switching period updates the six KPI cards and the "Sold Items" table, but not the "Revenue vs Net Profit — last 6 months" chart, which always shows the same rolling six months no matter which period you've picked.

  3. 3

    Read the six KPI cards

Revenue and Cost of Goods give you Gross Profit, revenue minus what you paid for the items that sold. Operating Costs, the expenses you've logged on the Expenses tab for this period, come off that to give Net Profit, and Net Margin shows Net Profit as a percentage of Revenue. Log an expense on the Expenses tab and it feeds straight into this Net Profit number.

  4. 4

Check the chart and Expense Breakdown

"Revenue vs Net Profit — last 6 months" plots both figures side by side for each of the last six months, so you can see whether your margin is holding up as revenue moves. Next to it, "Expense Breakdown" splits your logged costs into a donut by category, packaging, shipping, fees and the rest, so you can see what's actually eating into your profit.

  5. 5

Review Sold Items and catch losses

The "Sold Items" table lists every sale in your selected period with what you paid, what it sold for, profit and margin. If anything in that period sold for less than you paid, a "Loss Autopsy" panel appears underneath the table, tap it open to see which items and brands cost you the most, so you know what to stop buying.

Frequently asked

No. The "Revenue vs Net Profit — last 6 months" chart always shows the same rolling six months no matter which period you've selected. Only the six KPI cards and the "Sold Items" table respond to the period buttons.
