Expense tracker
Expense tracker for resellers — finally see your real margin.
Sales revenue is vanity. Net profit is reality. ResellIQ's reseller expense tracker logs every cost a reseller actually incurs — packaging, postage labels, platform fees, fuel, sourcing trips, recurring subscriptions — and subtracts it all from your sales to show what you genuinely made this month.
"I made £3k this month" usually isn't true
Most resellers quote their revenue figure: "I did £3,000 in sales last month". The honest number is much smaller. Once you subtract eBay's 12.8% fees, Vinted's buyer-protection cut, postage, jiffy bags, fuel to the car boot, and the £15 Vinted Pro subscription, that £3k might actually be £1,800 of profit. Or less.
Without an expense tracker designed for the way resellers actually spend money, that delta stays invisible. You think you're winning. HMRC eventually thinks differently.
ResellIQ tracks every category of reseller expense — one-off, recurring, item-linked, mileage-based — and produces a real net profit figure per month, per platform, per category. Bonus: come tax time, your figures are already tidy.
What ResellIQ tracks
Item-linked costs (postage, packaging, dry cleaning)
Costs you can attach to a specific item — the £4.95 tracked label, the £1.20 of packaging, the £8 dry-clean before listing — get subtracted from that item's profit, not just from the monthly bucket.
Platform fees, automatically estimated
ResellIQ knows eBay, Vinted, Depop and Poshmark fee structures. Mark an item sold on a platform and the fees are estimated automatically — adjust manually if you got a fee discount or paid for promotion.
Recurring subscriptions and overheads
Vinted Pro, eBay shop subscription, your ResellIQ Pro plan, broadband attribution, storage unit rent — log it once, ResellIQ subtracts it monthly.
Sourcing trips and mileage
Car boot at 5am? £4.50 entry, 18 miles round trip. Log it once and ResellIQ tracks both the cash cost and the HMRC-rate mileage allowance.
HMRC £1k trading allowance friendly
ResellIQ shows whether your annual reseller revenue is under or over the £1,000 UK trading allowance threshold — and prepares your figures cleanly if you need to declare.

Expense tracker FAQ
- Is this an accounting tool? Should I still use a separate accountant?
- ResellIQ is reseller bookkeeping, not full accounting. For most side-hustle and small full-time resellers it's enough to know your real net profit and feed clean figures to a self-assessment. If you're a limited company or doing serious volume, you still want an accountant — but ResellIQ gives them dramatically cleaner data than a Google Sheet.
- Does it integrate with my bank?
- Not yet. We're focused on the expenses you actually need to track for reselling — most of which (postage, packaging, fees) don't appear cleanly in a generic bank feed anyway. Bank integration is a future option for full-time sellers.
- Can I export expenses to CSV?
- Yes — full export to CSV any time, including a year-end summary view designed for self-assessment prep.
- Does it handle VAT?
- ResellIQ does not currently calculate VAT. Most UK resellers are below the VAT threshold; if you're not, you need accounting software, not bookkeeping software.
- Can I attach receipt photos?
- Yes — attach a photo of any receipt to the expense entry for your own records and audit trail.
